Six lawyers have left Hong-Kong firm Oldham, Li & Nie to set up a Hong Kong boutique practice, Hugill & Ip Solicitors, led by partners Adam Hugill and Alfred Ip.
Also joining the firm are partner Chris Hooley, who lead OLN’s corporate practie, and former OLN consultant Gary Wong, who joins the new firm as partner.
Mr Ip spent 13 years at OLN, where he specialised in private client, probate and trust and dispute resolution, while Mr Hugill specialises in employment, business immigration and dispute resolution.
Despite only just forming, the firm is already has “practice areas that we’re looking to develop,” Mr Hugill said. “There is also room for senior associates, and even partners, if the right people come along”.
Mr Ip added: “What we’re trying to do now, with so many years of working together, is create an environment that we both believe in, and we want to attract people that believe the same.”
