UK law firm Veale Wasbrough Vizards’ (VWV) trust management and charities teams have helped to facilitate a £1 million donation by the Harry Crook Foundation to help restore Bristol Cathedral’s historic organ, the largest ever gift received by the Cathedral.
Bristol Cathedral is renowned for its high quality choral music, and the Cathedral organ is an important part of Bristol's history. However, the organ now requires extensive renovations to preserve its sound, and the fundraising effort is being led by the Bristol Cathedral Trust. The £1 million donation has skyrocketed the campaign to almost £1.5 million of its £2 million target.
The Harry Crook Foundation was created in 1963, and has been supporting Bristol charities since then. The foundation's trustees were pleased to have the opportunity to continue the work of their founder in supporting this Bristol project.
Simon Heald, VWV's managing partner, commented: "It has been our pleasure to help the Harry Crook Foundation facilitate such an extraordinary donation to one of Bristol's most iconic religious landmarks. The donation will go a long way to ensuring that the Cathedral's music will be experienced by many more generations to come."
VWV is a UK-based law firm with offices in London, Watford, Bristol and Birmingham.
